Coaching is based on a relationship that promotes growth, facilitates a change process through visioning, goal setting, and accountability which can lead to sustainable change.
It puts the client at the centre of their wellness journey and facilitates a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires and supports clients to maximise their personal and professional potential.

Frequently Asked Questions
Health and Wellness coaching is a type of coaching-related specifically to lifestyle. Coaches engage with clients who are interested specifically in making changes to improve their well-being. This is a broad term – I specialise in coaching exercise, mindful movement, emotional eating and stress management.
Experts include psychologists, dietitians, and GPs amongst others. Experts have extensive knowledge in their relevant fields and will often work with clients to tackle very specific issues. On the other hand, coaches listen, and a great listener will help you to find your own solutions to problems. This can sometimes mean lingering in places that are uncomfortable but with the support that coaches provide it means moving forward in a way that is unique to your situation. You are leading the way; the coach is alongside for support and encouragement.
Health and Wellness Coaches are NOT therapists, and this is an important differentiation to make. Coaches don’t delve into past traumatic experiences, nor do they work with clients who are in distress. Coaching is future-oriented and very client-driven towards solutions. Coaches DO NOT manage mental health disorders. Health and Wellness Coaches do know what to look for that may indicate that a client needs expert support, advice or assistance relating to mental health. As a Health and Wellness Coach, I will always refer a client onto a qualified mental health expert if this is required.
To become a Health and Wellness Coach, individuals must complete an approved course with the International Coaching Federation. A Level 3 accreditation allows a coach to specialise in exercise, nutrition and stress management.
